Additional benefits:
The memorial benefit pays out R5000 one year after your or your spouse’s death to assist your family with the expenses of an unveiling ceremony.
The grocery benefit can be added and will pay R1000 each month for 6 months after your or your spouses death.
The waiting period refers to the period of time which has to pass before a life assured can qualify for a benefit payment. There is a six month waiting period on natural death for the principal member, spouse, children and parents on the policy. There is a nine month waiting period on natural death for any extended family members on the policy. If a natural death occurs during the waiting period then no funeral benefit will be payable however all premiums paid to date for that life assured will be refunded in full. There is no waiting period for accidental death claims.
